The Dypsis lutescens, commonly known as the Golden Cane Palm, is a hardy, low-maintenance palm that adds a tropical feel to any space. Their lush foliage, fronds, and branches create a tropical feel, with vibrant yellow accents adding colour. These hardy palms can reach significant heights of 4m-8m, which is perfect for screening, or as a striking feature in tropical gardens. This palm thrives in full sun to part shade, is moderately drought-tolerant once established, and adapts to a variety of soil types making them versatile for many climates. It makes a fantastic addition to both indoor plant collections, and in large pots in outdoor spaces.

Care Tips for Golden Cane Palms;
1. Golden Palm trees thrive in full sun to part shade.
2. Plant them in larger pots or directly into the soil, ensuring the hole is about 1.5 times the size of the root-ball.
3. Use a slow release fertiliser or all purpose fertiliser during the warmer months to promote healthy growth.
4. Golden cane plants can grow in various soil types, but prefer moist well drained soil.
5. Keep your palm trees happy with plenty of water, but be careful not to over water as this can lead to root rot. Allow the top 5-10cm of soil to dry out slightly in between waterings.
6. For indoor palms check regularly for pests and occasionally mist leaves with water.
7. Regular pruning of old fronds and new suckers helps maintain shape and encourages strong growth of new fronds.
